CRS Research

We undertake research projects aimed at specific questions that arise from our work with teachers and the available educational resources. The results are used to inform our Teacher Services program and disseminated to the broader science education community to spur development and improve practices. Research is funded by both targeted grants and general support.

A review of research literature focused on the impact of using outdoor, constructivist teaching approaches on academic achievement.

A summary of the study outcomes for administrators and teachers.

A summary of the study outcomes for environmental educators.

A study of barriers and opportunities for strengthening k-12 science and environmental education in the San Francisco Bay Area based on input from students, teachers, principals, and informal educators.

Research on the available environmental education resources within an hours drive of the Bay Area with identification of subject gaps and overlaps.

Research on the availability and issues related to transportation alternatives for student field trips in various districts.
