School Year in Full Swing!

As the holiday season approaches, we here at CRS, are prepping to make the last of our orientation and training sessions of 2011, to help new volunteers finish developing lesson plans for the spring, and to schedule a few more eager BASIS teams before the end of the first half of the school year.

So far this school year 338 UC Berkeley and Bayer volunteers have made 169 presentations in 61 different schools in Berkeley, Oakland, Emeryville, and West Contra Costa.  That adds up to be over 4220 students who have experienced a hands-on lesson and nearly 170 volunteer hours in local elementary and middle schools!

As always, we are blown away by the generosity, passion, and enthusiasm of BASIS volunteers and we love to get pictures and responses from teachers that have had visitors:
