Our vision is a community of educators working together to excite all children about learning through the scientific exploration of the world around them. Community Resources for Science contributes to this vision by weaving connections between the needs of individual teachers and the existing resources in our community, while acting as a catalyst to improve the available resources. CRS was founded in 1997 in response to our personal experience with the barriers elementary teachers experience to doing science. We believe that an early exposure to science will not only inform students' future decisions as adults and citizens, but can offer exciting routes for learning in the elementary classroom. Our non-profit organization helps public elementary school teachers, informal educators, and the community work together to give all kids access to great hands-on learning experiences.
